Lonza produces the COVID-19 vaccine from Moderna in Visp, but currently lack around 100 specialists for the production line (external pageSRF News). Lonza reached out for help, especially looking for Bio- and Chemical engineers – our area!
Within just two weeks and with great administrative effort, Prof. Robert Grass, Niki Kobert, 3 PhD candidates and 7 master students currently active in our labs dropped everything and started working in Visp in the vaccine production line – showing clearly the willingness of the students, our lab FML and ETH Zürich to rank common welfare higher than personal interests.
