Netflix at Functional Materials Laboratory
Our technology used to store a full Netflix episode in DNA.
To promote their new series Biohackers, Netflix stored the first full episode of the series in DNA. The translation of digital data to a series of nucleobases was performed in collaboration with Reinhard Heckel and according to our recent publication L. Meiser et al. Nat. Protoc. 2020 (external pageLink). Further the DNA was encapsulated by our spin-off company TurboBeads in glass particles according our published protocol from 2013 (Paunescu et al. Nat. Protoc. 2013 external pageLink).
